Dodgeball Tournament

It was a late November morning, and all of Canonsburg Middle School's students were gathered into the gymnasium for one of its most highly anticipated events, the student council dodgeball tournament. The third annual tournament was quite the fun occasion, but the pride of winning the title of champion was on the line as well as the feeling of helping to raise money for our student council.
All the participants helped raise money by paying to take part in the tournament. There was a lot of participation, and most classrooms had nearly all their students involved for the event. This good, clean fun was a great way to nurture competitions between the academic teams, as well as giving the students a sense of involvement. It even pitted classrooms from the same team against one another in an all-out battle to defeat all the other classes. For this time, the students bonded as a group, something you do not see too often with students with conflicting interests.
Congratulations to seventh grade champions Homeroom 303, Mrs. Drakeley's class, and reigning school champions Homeroom 110, Mrs. Boyle's class. After many tie games and close calls, these two classrooms managed to withstand defeat and survived to the end. Hopefully, our school will do more events like these, bringing us together as not only a school, but a whole. Thanks to the lot of work done by student council to make this possible and the awesome contribution the students made by joining in on the fun, for it paid off nicely, and you could tell that the students were pleased by the outcome
